Vierde race weekend van het Belcar Skylimit Sprint Cup kampioenschap. Met 41 auto’s voor 50 piloten word deze manche de grootste startgrid van het seizoen tot dusver. Op donderdag 27 augustus worden 2 kwalificatie reeksen gereden. Op zaterdag 29 augustus start de eerste race in het voorprogramma van de 24 Uren van Zolder om 09u55 en de tweede race om 15u20.
Na de 25 Uren Fun Cup in Francorchamps, start de Belcar Skylimit Sprint Cup in het voorprogramma van de 24 Uren van Zolder met een record aantal inschrijvingen voor 2026.
Naast de vertrouwde gezichten ziet de BSSC de terugkeer van andere vertrouwde gezichten. Sommigen staan zelfs voor de eerste keer aan terug de start in 2026 zoals Sam Smismans, Tom Van Eenaeme samen met Bart Van Haeren en Kenny De Cock met een BMW e90.
Leiders in de tussenstand van het kampioenschap Karl Chandeck en Johan Lambregs zullen hun leidersplaats hard moeten verdedigen. Deels door de aanwezigheid van 5 klasse 6 wagens en 3 extra concurrenten van formaat in eigen klasse 5.
Uittredend kampioen Kevin de Regt brengt zijn vertrouwde BMW 130i na afwezigheid in Spa-Francorchamps terug naar Zolder. Patrick Beliën en Peter Pauls vullen de klasse aan met respectievelijk hun BMW M2 en Opel Astra TCR.
Klasse 6 is terug van één race weggeweest. Tom Van Eenaeme brengt zijn Porsche 996 GT3 Cup terug aan de start. Samen met Sam Smismans met een Seat Cupra TCR zullen ze het Raf Beliën en Michael De Rooy moeilijk maken om de eindzege naar huis te nemen.
Klasse 4 wordt een Nederlands onderonsje met enkel Jan-Jaap Van Dalen en Jean-Paul Hulsebos met hun BMW’s aan de start. Deze laatste zal het ook stevig te verduren krijgen om zijn tweede plaats in de tussenstand van het kampioenschap te verdedigen.
In klasse 3 voegen zich maar liefst 4 extra auto’s toe voor de start van de kwalificaties donderdag voormiddag. Deze klasse is dan ook het grootst vertegenwoordigd op de startgrid met 11 auto’s en 14 piloten.
Kenny De Cock met een BMW e90, Lisanne De Jong met een Renault Clio, Michiel Screurs Met een VW Golf GTi, David Vincke met een BMW 125i en terugkomer Kevin Van Eldik met zijn vertrouwde BMW Compact.
Leider in de tussenstand van klasse 2 Tom Vanderheyden ziet een aantal geduchte concurrenten aan de start verschijnen. Jo en Ines Lammens zijn terug aanwezig en zullen hem met hun BMW 325 e90 het vuur aan de schenen leggen. Giel-Jan Wijns en Kristoff Cox komen ook terug aan de start in klasse 2 met een Toyota GT86 en Renault Clio Cup 5. De Peugeot 206 GTi wordt deze keer door Rob Reynders in plaats van Bert Lavreysen.
In klasse 1 is alles zoals vanouds met 6 deelnemers waar klasse leider Emre Kahraman zijn sterke vierde positie in de algemene tussenstand zal trachten te behouden. In de klasse vervoegt Glenn Verhulst de rangen met een VW Golf 4.
